A Quick Look At The Outer Banks

While on my trip to Virginia, my husband and I decided to make a quick trip to the Outer Banks. For those of you who have never heard of it, it is a strip of peninsulas that detach from North Carolina, separating the state from the Atlantic.

While we were out visiting my brother in Virginia, we decided to wake early one morning and take the two-hour drive down south to view the beautiful landscape of the Outer Banks.

There are multiple islands and areas that you can stop at along the way, but we had our eyes set on Nags Head Beach and Kill Devil Hills.

We drove through Kill Devil Hills, which had some sand dunes and ended up being a pretty touristy area, which we figured. There were strips of hotels and restaurants and beach homes that lined the roads. But, since we woke early, we drove through this area and reached Nags Head around 7am, just in time to see the sunrise.

It was a perfect sunrise and the beach itself stretched out for miles. We were one of the few people walking along the early morning shores and it was well worth the early morning drive to be able to have the beach all to ourselves!

So of course we started doing some yoga exercises to really fit the moment! It was a magical experience and I would definitely return. We even saw a herd of dolphins migrating by!

On the way back to Virginia, we ended up stopping at a little place called Outer Bean. It was a cozy, veggie-friendly cafe/restaurant with a lot of flavor! There were so many restaurants out there, I’ll just have to go back and try a few more. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, if you’re looking for a vacation getaway, this is a beautiful and diverse area to visit. Of if. you’d just like to add another beach to your beach-bucketlist, do what we did and drive down to see the Outer Banks for yourself!

Let me know in the comments below if you have ever been to the Outer Banks and, if so, which area did you visit!?

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
